Yacht controller

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about wireless docking systems? Find answers about Yacht Controller products, installation, pricing, compatibility and more. Serving Australia and Asia Pacific.

A wireless yacht controller is a handheld remote that lets you operate your boat's engines, thrusters, anchor windlass and horn from anywhere on board — without being at the helm. It gives you complete docking control whether you're at the bow, stern or mid-ship.

The handheld remote transmits commands to a receiver unit installed near your helm. The receiver connects to your boat's engine controls, thrusters and other systems. Yacht Controller uses dual-band technology, transmitting on two frequencies simultaneously for a signal that's more reliable than your boat's own wired controls.

Yacht Controller systems suit all vessel sizes. The Nemesis is designed for boats up to 16 metres, the Maximo for vessels up to 26 metres, and the Svpremo has no upper size limit — making it suitable for superyachts and large commercial vessels.

Yacht Controller is compatible with most single and twin-screw inboards, pod drives, IPS drives and many outboards. It works with most major engine brands. Contact us with your vessel details and we'll confirm compatibility before you commit.

Pricing varies depending on your vessel size, drive configuration and the features you need. Each system is custom-engineered for your boat. Contact us for an obligation-free quote tailored to your vessel.

Yes. Yacht Controller systems are CE and FCC certified and meet the requirements of international standard EN 60945 Maritime Navigational Apparatus. This certification covers use on government, passenger and commercial vessels in over 160 countries — no other wireless remote docking system holds this certification.

Yacht Controller has been in the market since 2002 — approximately 15 years before Dockmate — and is the only wireless docking system with IEC EN 60945 maritime certification. Our unique dual-band technology transmits on two frequencies simultaneously, meaning if one is blocked, the other maintains control. Yacht Controller is also the only system approved for commercial and government vessels.

Absolutely. That's one of the most popular reasons customers choose Yacht Controller. The system lets a single person dock, moor and manoeuvre confidently without needing crew to manage lines or watch the stern. Thousands of solo boaters around the world rely on Yacht Controller every day.
